The play room is ready! Or as ready as it can be for now. Those of you who have seen this room in person will no doubt marvel at the transformation; although you may not recognize it with out the lumber piles, old windows and doors, insulation (loose, in bags, rigid) and other various sundries (including an entire old-fashioned bingo system - to be re-installed at a later date). Clearly this is more of an adult playroom right now, but in no time it will be full of kids toys, bikes and other equipment. Poor Eric, his shop space & storage space has been getting smaller and smaller every year!
Today Eric and I met with the boys' pediatrician for the first time in person. It was the adoption version of the prenatal consultation with parents - what to expect, how the practice works, tests, immunizations, etc. We are very pleased so far - the doctor is excellent - a bio mom of several and adoptive mom to one. Also, the practice has nurse practitioners on duty from 7am-7pm - 7 days a week! I have a feeling that may come in handy someday.
P.S. Did you notice the "school classroom" setting of the last post - the photo taken in our great room with the three little desks? Eric says I can't get enough school! His mother actually found the desks for us, from a pre-school closing down. They definitely fit in this house!
