We're getting closer! 10 days to travel - we meet the boys in 12 days!
Yesterday I had my eye appointment and ordered new glasses that should be ready before we travel. Eric tried to help me pick out new ones; unfortunately the ones he like highlighted my gray hair! Thankfully, we had Beth, the kindhearted (and honest) Lenscrafters associate assisting us. I'm excited, they're "transition lenses" that darken outside, my first pair. We keep thinking of things we need to do "before," like taking the pets for their shots, getting that next cord of firewood put up, getting the car inspected, etc., as if we will be completely different and unavailable people "after..."....will we be?
I also got my hair (specifically cow-lick laden bangs) trimmed yesterday and had an interesting chat with my hairdresser about lice. I know, disgusting topic, but a real possibility as we pick up the boys from the orphanage. We'll be carrying lice shampoo, enough for all 6 of us, if the need arises. She also gave me several "tricks of the trade" like freezing or cooking items that may carry critters or eggs as well as bringing extra pillow cases and putting all of our clothes in a giant garbage bag in the hotel room to protect them from "jumpers." I'm getting the heebee jeebee's (sp?) right now just writing about it so that's all for now.
Here's one for everyone out there - I was reading an online friend's blog today and she didn't much feel like writing so she asked if anyone has a question for her - so, I'm passing the same on to you. Is there something you've been wondering about, either for Eric or I? Don't be shy, or worry if it's too personal - if it is we'll let you know. If you're not comfortable (or able) to leave a comment on the blog you can e-mail me privately at melissajagger@yahoo.com. Well, I'm off to watch more Olympics (Michael Phelps just kicked butt in the 400 IM!) I should be studying Marathi flashcards, maybe I'll work that into the commercials? Sweet dreams-
P.S. This is Henry with his most favorite toy, the "monkey!"

Hi Melissa,
We adopted from Kerala and live in Boston. I am wondering if you have considered taking one last, carefree, stay out too late, talk and eat great adult food, date before your life changes in every way? It will be the last time you will go out again without thinking of someone else(or many people in your case). The key is NOT to talk about them the entire date.
A strong suggestion from one who has been there.
It's hard for us to watch hours and hours of the olympics too! It's good you are doing this now.
Sarah
Hi Melissa! How long is your flight going to take? How long are you going to stay? Have you decided about names yet? Also, congrat's on the leave time! Can't wait until they're here! -Melissa M.
Hi Sarah,
Yes, we have had a couple of such dates lately; although I don't think we made it through without talking about either the kids or the trip. We may be able to squeeze in one more before we go. Thanks for the advice!
Melissa
