After a few glorious days of basking in the news that the boys really are "our boys" now, the reality of the next phase became apparent yesterday as we met with our social worker down in Portland. A big part of the meeting was paperwork; we went over what is supposedly our last big stack of new paperwork, combined it with other stacks we've already completed, and when it was all over had three giant packets (one for each boy) to carry with us to India. We will pick up the boys' passports, medical files and other documents when we get them at the orphanage; the visas (to immigrate them to the U.S.) will be picked up at the embassy in New Dehli after that.
What we're waiting for now it the official document that the court reporter will type out after the judge's verbal granting of guardianship last Friday. We were told to expect it next Tuesday, but those of you following this blog know that could mean....really next Tuesday....3 weeks from next Tuesday.....anyways - when that document is handed over and faxed to our agency we can buy plane tickets! Most likely scenario - we'll travel the second week of August!
Up next, the final phases of getting the house ready and packing!
*Here a few photos some of you may have not seen - they were taken back in April when the boys were given their birthday gifts and informed they were being adopted.
